I have always loved cartoons but have never been very good at drawing them. For this logo I needed to develop a cartoon monkey. It was a learning curve for me but I think I came away knowing more than I did when I started. It always helps to have a client who trusts you but isn't afraid to tell you what they think. This is one of the cases where the final logo is much stronger because of synergy with the client.
